FROM SOIL TO SKIN

FROM SOIL TO SKIN

At Modern Botany we think about the importance soil plays in our lives and remember that it is a living resource and home to more than 25% of the planets biodiversity; it regulates the earth’s atmosphere and without it there would be no plant life.

We need to 'Keep soil alive, protect soil biodiversity'. We are the soil we stand on and if we do not manage soil health and maintain our eco-systems and biodiversity then the fertility of our soil will decline to a degree that could spell a threat to global herbal supplies.

At Modern Botany, for our part we are looking at growing our core ingredients locally and our co-founders are looking at farming techniques that promote regenerative farming practice, which is about conserving and rehabilitating the soil with natural resources

Skin, as it is with soil needs to be protected as it is our first line defence against the elements and our environment and similarly with soil we need to be careful and conscious of what we put on our skin to maintain its health.

Science in Nature

Nothing about nature is accidental. Neither is our science-led approach to creating products that really work, with the best the natural world has to offer.

Informed by our founder’s background in pharmacognosy*, we use carefully selected blends of plant-based bio actives, sourced responsibly from around the globe. The specific and potent properties have been discovered through over 20 years of Dr Simon Jackson’s worldwide expeditions and research.

We believe that everything we put in and around our bodies matters so what we leave out of our formulations is as intentional as what we put in. All of our products are 100% natural, safe to use and non-toxic.

*Pharmacognosy is the study of medicinal compounds obtained from plants or other natural sources
